Company: One of Our Amazing Partners

ABOUT THE COMPANY

One of Our Amazing Partners is a fully integrated creative agency based in Chinatown, NYC, built on one creative philosophy: make work that rewires the way the world thinks. Working with brands like TikTok, Burger King, DoorDash, Ruggable, Pinterest, and Chase, Mojo operates at the intersection of advertising, entertainment, social, creators, and technology. Founded in 2018, Mojo combines the ownership, speed, and experimentation of a startup with the foundation of an established agency, active clients, talented teams, and real business problems worth solving.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

A hands-on technical product builder who bridges the gap between complex business problems and working software. You will combine strong engineering ability with sharp product judgment, embedding directly with the founder, leadership, and creative teams to turn ambitious ideas into products people actually use. This is not a traditional product management role where requirements are gathered and passed to engineers. It is also not a pure engineering role where the problem has already been clearly defined. It is both.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

Understand the real problem

  • Work directly with the founder and senior leadership to understand business goals, workflows, constraints, and frustrations
  • Learn how work moves across creative, strategy, production, operations, and client teams
  • Identify the underlying problem behind a request rather than automatically building the first proposed solution
  • Translate complex and ambiguous business challenges into focused product opportunities

Shape the product and technical solution

  • Turn business problems into clear product concepts, workflows, prototypes, and technical plans
  • Determine whether the right solution involves custom software, AI, automation, integrations, process changes, or an existing platform
  • Break ambitious ideas into focused, testable versions that can reach users quickly
  • Make clear decisions about what should be built, bought, integrated, simplified, or stopped
  • Maintain a focused roadmap and development backlog

Build, deploy, and iterate

  • Rapidly create functional prototypes, MVPs, and production-ready software
  • Work hands-on with APIs, databases, AI models, automations, integrations, and modern development tools
  • Build critical parts of products directly when it is the most effective path forward
  • Test products with real users and incorporate feedback quickly
  • Ensure solutions are useful, reliable, secure, documented, and maintainable

Lead a distributed technical team

  • Provide day-to-day product and technical leadership to distributed developers and technical partners
  • Translate product direction into clear priorities, milestones, ownership, and development cycles
  • Help engineers understand the user, business, and creative context behind what they are building
  • Review architecture, APIs, databases, data flows, AI implementation, security, and code quality
  • Hold the team accountable for speed, quality, reliability, and documentation

Create business and client value

  • Identify where technology can improve how Mojo works, makes decisions, develops ideas, and delivers value
  • Participate in selected client conversations to understand problems that may be solved through technology
  • Collaborate with creatives, strategists, producers, account leaders, and external partners
  • Travel regularly to New York City for on-site collaboration with leadership and creative teams

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

During your first year, you will have

  • Established a clear and focused roadmap for Mojo's most important product opportunities
  • Created an effective working rhythm with the distributed technical team
  • Built trust across leadership, creative, strategy, production, operations, and client teams
  • Turned ambiguous business and client problems into functional prototypes and MVPs
  • Launched a focused number of products that people consistently use
  • Improved the speed, quality, and reliability of product development
  • Reduced unfinished experiments, unclear builds, and unnecessary complexity
  • Demonstrated measurable improvements in team effectiveness, speed, quality, or client value
  • Established a strong foundation for Mojo's long-term product and technology capability

YOU'LL SUCCEED IF YOU HAVE

  • Strong software engineering and technical problem-solving ability with hands-on experience building prototypes, MVPs, and production software
  • Strong product instincts and clear opinions about what makes a product useful
  • The ability to move from an unclear business challenge to a working technical solution without waiting for perfect specifications
  • Hands-on experience with APIs, integrations, databases, AI products, automation, and modern software architecture
  • The technical credibility to lead developers, challenge architectural decisions, and review code quality
  • Experience guiding distributed developers, contractors, or technical teams across countries and time zones
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work directly with founders, executives, creatives, and clients
  • Strong prioritization skills and the confidence to say no, stop projects that are not working, or propose better alternatives
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding that technology must create meaningful business or client value
  • Experience in advertising, marketing, media, social, entertainment, production, creator technology, or a related field

Strong candidates may come from

  • A forward deployed engineering role at a technology or AI company
  • A product-engineering or technical product role within advertising, marketing technology, media, or creator technology
  • A startup where you personally helped take products from an unclear problem through launch
  • A technical founder or early startup employee accustomed to building with a small team
  • A creative technology group that developed durable products rather than campaign-only prototypes
  • An agency innovation team where you owned implementation, deployment, and adoption, not only strategy or presentations

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience building AI-enabled products or agentic workflows
  • Hands-on work with large language models, retrieval systems, or data pipelines
  • Experience building workflow products or internal business systems
  • Experience creating products for both internal teams and external clients
  • Experience using AI-assisted development or lightweight tools to prototype quickly
  • Experience presenting technical solutions to founders, executives, or clients
  • Experience collaborating with creators, talent, production teams, or entertainment partners

THIS ROLE IS NOT RIGHT FOR YOU IF

  • You need complete requirements before beginning
  • You primarily coordinate roadmaps and meetings rather than shape or build products
  • You enjoy innovation strategy but do not want responsibility for implementation and adoption
  • You are an engineer who does not want to engage with users, clients, or business problems
  • You are a product manager who does not want to work hands-on with technology
  • You require a large product, design, and engineering organization around you to make progress
  • You are uncomfortable challenging founders, executives, or clients when the proposed solution is wrong
  • You prefer perfect specifications over building quickly and learning from real usage

HOW YOU WILL WORK WITH LEADERSHIP

You will work directly with Mojo's founder and senior leadership team. Leadership will provide business context, access to teams and clients, and clarity on the outcomes Mojo is trying to achieve. You will independently evaluate opportunities, challenge assumptions, determine the right product and technical approach, and lead the team through development and adoption. You will not simply convert leadership ideas into development tickets. You will be expected to improve the thinking, propose better solutions, and be accountable for whether the resulting product actually works.

WHY JOIN THIS TEAM

This role offers a level of access and ownership that is difficult to find inside a traditional product or engineering organization. You will work directly with founders and decision-makers, build alongside talented creative teams, and contribute to work connected to major brands, leading creators, and culturally relevant campaigns. You will have the freedom and responsibility to shape how technology becomes part of a modern creative company. There is no finished product organization to join and no established playbook to follow. For the right person, that is the opportunity.
