Company: NR CPAs & Business Advisors

ABOUT THE COMPANY

NR CPAs & Business Advisors is a Miami based public accounting firm serving closely held businesses, their owners, and international clients. The firm handles complex compliance and advisory work across corporate, partnership, individual, trust, and cross border filings, with a client base that ranges from local operating companies to foreign owned U.S. entities. The team is small enough that every associate works directly with partners and sees the full arc of an engagement, from workpapers to the planning conversation with the client.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a senior tax professional who has come up inside a public accounting firm and can own U.S. returns end to end with limited hand holding. You should be comfortable across entity types, confident in book to tax work, and able to spot an issue in a client's records before it becomes a problem on the return. This is a technical seat. Depth of return experience matters more than headcount managed.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Review tax and light accounting work product from a team of three to five preparers before it reaches the partner
  • Prepare complex U.S. federal and multi state returns across 1120, 1120-S, 1120-F, 1065, 1040 and 1040-NR, 1041, and related filings
  • Handle international information reporting including 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 3520 and 3520-A, 8938, and FinCEN 114
  • Apply foreign tax credit and foreign earned income rules on Forms 1116 and 2555
  • Perform book to tax reconciliations, Schedule M-1 adjustments, and cash to accrual conversions
  • Review client bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online and Desktop and clear discrepancies before returns move forward
  • Prepare workpapers and support that a reviewer or partner can follow without rework
  • Support planning and advisory work such as entity structuring, reasonable compensation, and basis and distribution analysis
  • Track filing deadlines, extensions, and estimated payments across a book of clients
  • Run client consults directly as you take ownership of accounts
  • Communicate open items and status clearly to the partner you report to

YOU'LL SUCCEED IF YOU HAVE

  • Four to seven years of U.S. tax experience covering both individual and corporate returns, gained inside a public accounting firm rather than a private company's internal finance team
  • Hands on preparation experience across corporate, partnership, and individual returns in the same season
  • Working knowledge of international information returns and cross border filing requirements
  • Strong grasp of book to tax differences and the ability to work from imperfect client books
  • Fluency in professional tax software such as UltraTax CS, GoSystem Tax RS, or CCH Axcess
  • Advanced Excel and comfort building and documenting your own workpapers
  • Professional English plus a second language (Spanish or Portuguese), since the firm serves clients in both
  • Comfort taking client consults directly once you know the book

NICE TO HAVE

  • CPA license or an equivalent local accounting certification (welcome, but not required)
  • Master of Accounting or Master of Science in Taxation
  • Experience at a mid size or national firm with structured review processes
  • Exposure to estate, trust, or nonprofit filings

WHY JOIN THIS TEAM

This is a long term seat on a U.S. firm's core tax team, not overflow season work. You will get real technical range across entity types and international filings, direct access to partners, and support for continuing education and licensing. For a strong public accounting senior, it is a path to reviewer and manager level work without leaving Latin America.
