ABOUT THE COMPANY

One of Our Amazing Partners is an ecommerce agency that designs, builds, and runs online stores for established retail and lifestyle brands. The technology team handles everything from theme architecture and design systems to full platform migrations, with a heavy concentration in Shopify. The work is hands on and client facing, built around a small senior team that owns projects end to end rather than passing tickets between departments.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

A UX/UI designer who is genuinely fluent in ecommerce and comfortable designing inside the Shopify ecosystem. You know what a theme can actually support, so your designs get built as drawn instead of getting reinterpreted in development. You work quickly in Figma, you take direction cleanly, and you are equally happy executing against an established direction or running a project yourself once you have earned the room to do it.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Design ecommerce experiences in Figma, from wireframes and layout exploration through production ready UI.
  • Redesign and modernize storefronts as clients move off legacy Shopify themes onto current theme architecture.
  • Build reusable components, patterns, and design system pieces that carry across multiple client projects.
  • Translate an established creative direction into complete page and component design across the full site.
  • Partner with developers on handoff, producing specs clear enough to be implemented without follow up questions.
  • Review implemented work for design fidelity and flag what drifted before it reaches the client.
  • Apply ecommerce UX and conversion patterns to product, collection, cart, and checkout experiences.
  • Hold accessibility and responsive standards across every deliverable, mobile first.
  • Contribute to early stage work when needed, including competitive review, mood boards, and concept exploration.
  • Present and explain design decisions to internal stakeholders and, over time, directly to clients.

YOU'LL SUCCEED IF YOU HAVE

  • Three or more years designing ecommerce interfaces, ideally inside an agency serving multiple clients.
  • Real Shopify experience and a working sense of what the platform will and will not support.
  • Strong Figma craft, including components, variants, and maintained libraries.
  • The ability to take a direction from a lead designer and execute the full build out without hand holding.
  • Fluency with responsive, mobile first design and WCAG level accessibility standards.
  • Enough familiarity with HTML, CSS, and modern frontend patterns to collaborate credibly with engineers.
  • Comfort working with developers as your primary daily audience and writing specs they can act on.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Conversion rate optimization experience, including test design and reading results.
  • Experience on platforms beyond Shopify, such as Sanity or headless builds.
  • AI assisted design workflows for prototyping, asset generation, or rapid iteration.
  • A portfolio that shows before and after storefront redesigns.

TOOLS WE USE

Figma, Shopify, Sanity, Slack.

WHY JOIN THIS TEAM

This is a design seat with a real pipeline behind it. The team is modernizing a large portfolio of storefronts, so the work is continuous rather than project to project, and the group is deliberately moving away from ticket pushing toward deeper strategic involvement with client businesses. If you do the work well, the path opens to owning your own client relationships.
