Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and client finance, supporting strategic decision-making, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking across the agency and client portfolio.
Responsibilities
FP&A
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and forecasting processes for the agency.
- Prepare management reporting packages, including variance analyses and KPIs.
- Partner with department heads to track expenses, identify trends, and optimize cost efficiency.
- Assist in long-range planning, scenario modeling, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Support the development and implementation of financial systems and tools to improve reporting and analytics.
- Closely monitor agency cash flow projections
Client Finance
- Collaborate with account management and operations to prepare client estimates, staffing plans, SOWs, and reconciliations.
- Monitor client profitability and ensure adherence to contractual terms and billing schedules.
- Analyze revenue recognition and ensure timely and accurate invoicing in accordance with client agreements.
- Identify and flag out-of-scope work and support account teams in navigating change orders
- Track and report client KPIs and margins to internal stakeholders.
Third-Party Accounting Support:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the agency and external accounting provider.
- Provide timely financial data, schedules, and documentation to support monthly close, account reconciliations, and audits.
- Review financial statements prepared by the accounting team for accuracy and completeness.
- Help ensure proper application of revenue recognition policies and agency accounting practices.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to improve workflow, financial processes, and system integrations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in financial planning, analysis, or client finance – preferably within an advertising, marketing, or media agency.
- Familiarity with agency financial models and media billing practices is a plus.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, Quickbooks and/or SAP
- Hands on experience with Python and BI tools
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
